Sedation / Sleep Dentistry

Your well-being is our priority. To make your visit comfortable, anxiety-free and painless, we offer three types of safe conscious sedation methods:

  • Nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”)
  • Oral sedation
  • Intravenous sedation (“sleep dentistry”)

With sedation, you will be conscious (able to breathe on your own and to respond to questions) but will be very relaxed (either sleeping or sleepy) and, in some cases, will not be able even to recall the appointment.


Dr. William MacDonnell, dental anesthesiologist, is an essential member of our practice and provides sleep dentistry services to our patients.

If you have any hesitation about seeing the dentist, possess a high gag reflex, are difficult to numb, or need extensive work but have limited time for dental visits, we encourage you to seek this option at our practice.
