Evelyn Spencer, DMD

Dr. Evelyn Spencer is a distinguished, board-certified periodontist with an international academic and research background spanning Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She completed her residency in Periodontics at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where she developed advanced expertise in the management of periodontal conditions and dental implantology.

Dr. Spencer holds a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Medical Science in Neuroscience from the University of Sydney, Australia. Her career has been shaped by a strong commitment to research and innovation. She has contributed to projects at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where she also served on the board of the Vernon Brightman Research Society, and conducted research at Imperial College London’s Institute of Biomedical Engineering as well as at the University of Sydney.

Her work has been recognized with multiple honors, including the prestigious Northeast Society of Periodontists Award for excellence in undergraduate periodontics. Most recently, she was appointed to the Innovations Advisory Council of the American Academy of Periodontology and named a recipient of the 2025 Nobel Biocare Student and New Periodontist Annual Meeting Scholarship. She was also a finalist presenting her latest surgical research with the University of Connecticut at the American Academy of Periodontology.

Blending extensive surgical training with a strong research foundation, Dr. Spencer is dedicated to advancing the field of periodontology through clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, she now resides in New York City with her French native husband and their adopted Philadelphia-born cat. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys exploring new restaurants, hunting for the city’s best baguettes, and finding spots where she can source her beloved Vegemite.
