A new study shows that tooth loss is linearly associated with increasing rates of death and stroke in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients.

Patients reported the number of remaining teeth at baseline, and were then followed for an average 3.7 years. During follow up, there were 1,543 major cardiovascular events, 705 cardiovascular deaths, 1,120 deaths from any cause, and 301 strokes.
