Look over the following checklist to get an idea of your level of risk for periodontal infection.
Are you over 40 years old?
Do you smoke or use tobacco?
Do you have heart disease?
Do you have diabetes?
Is your diet low in important nutrients?
Are you currently taking any medications such as heart medications, antidepressants, or oral contraceptives?
Are you pregnant or planning to become pregnant?
Do any family members have gum disease?
Do you have bad breath?
